One of the very first misconceptions about this job is that people do not hire wedding planners at the time of recessions. You need to remember that couples do get married even during recessions and they do look out for wedding planners to help them organize their wedding. However, the only difference is that, during recessions a wedding planner might get hold of fewer assignments than other times.
The second misconception is that to pursue this career, it is compulsory to do a wedding management course. This too is not true. Although doing such a course proves to be very helpful, one might straight away start working if he/she has the required qualities in him/her.
